What is a DETOX?

“DETOX” is a popular abbreviation of the term “Detoxification”. This is the method used to cleanse the colon of any left over, undigested or chemically processed foods, which, when sitting inside the colon will become surrounded by mucus, creating toxic wastes. Toxins can also enter your body while breathing air full of contaminants, while eating junk food, smoking or using other dangerous toxic products. Eliminating these toxins from your body is a crucial factor to maintaining good health in general. The process of detoxification neutralizes the bodies harmful toxic components that will be eliminated from the toxic wastes accumulated in our bodies through chemical processes, transforming them into relatively harmless toxic components that will be eliminated from the body via feces or urine.

Although the body has a natural built-in detoxification system, today’s society dictates the regular consumption of unhealthy foods along with some unhealthy habits reducing substantially the bodies natural capacity to detoxify or eliminate dangerous chemical compounds. There are certain toxic level indicators in our body, such as a bloating sensation, recurrent fatigue, frequent colds, digestive problems, allergies or presence of eczema. The presence of toxins in our bodies also takes us to hormonal imbalances, failures of the immune system, nutritional deficiencies and to an inefficient metabolism.
